It Takes a Village

They say that it takes a village in animal rescue. In Bubba's case, it took the collaboration between four separate organizations and dozens of volunteers to get him to safety. Bubba arrived at St. Clair County Animal Control in Belleville, IL on January 17, 2017. He was on the euthanasia list, but a man named Ben from Waterloo, IA fell in love with his pictures shared by Stray Angels, and knew he had to have him.

And so began the journey to save Bubba. Stray Angels partnered with a rescue group that specializes in the rescue and adoption of pitbulls called Cedar Valley Pitbull Rescue in Waterloo, IA to pull Bubba. Bubba went to a vet to be seen for a health certificate to travel across state lines, and stayed in a temporary foster home with the Vice President of Stray Angels, Sara Cordevant while he waited for two days. Then, a group called Pilots for Paws transported him to Iowa to his new home.

Thank you to all the wonderful people involved in getting this sweet boy safe, especially those involved with St. Clair County Animal Control, Stray Angels, Cedar Valley Pitbull Rescue, and Pilots for Paws. And THANK YOU to Bubba's new owner, Ben, who made this all possible by saying "yes" to adoption. Without all of you, this wouldn't be possible. One dog does matter!
